Relocation services

One of the most important things when moving to a new country is to consider the whole family.  ESS offers a relocation package including practical as well as financial support, help with finding a suitable home and schools for the children as well as installation and relocation allowances. The Relocation services are managed by an external relocation agency working close to ESS.

Support for families and partners

Language courses and relocation training

All international employees and partners are offered the opportunity to take a beginners’ course in Swedish. The employee is also offered the opportunity to meet a consultant especially skilled in the field of relocation training. The aim is to teach the family about the cultural characteristics of Sweden as well as reflecting upon their own cultural identity and how these will influence their intercultural interactions.

Partner support

HR has initiated “get-togethers” for employees’ partners to ensure that ESS helps to integrate the partner and to get them introduced to a social network. The partner is also, via the Swedish Public Employment Service, given the opportunity to meet a job coach who will assist in finding employment and who will provide information about the Swedish job market or about universities in Sweden if further education is preferred. ESS has a wide network in relevant sectors that will provide useful support in finding employment for partners.

Support in finding appropriate schools for children

The relocation agency will work hard to help find the appropriate school for employees’ children. In Lund there are several excellent schools.  A pre-analysis will help the employee and family to find the most suitable alternative.
